Vauxhall servicing & repairs
Vauxhall servicing, repairs and diagnostics
Corsa, Astra, Insignia and Vivaro servicing, repairs and fault finding in Stockport.
Our approach
Looking after your Vauxhall
Vauxhalls are common, sensibly priced to maintain and generally reliable when serviced on time. Most of the work we do is routine servicing, brakes, timing belts and diagnosing electrical faults that owners have been living with for months.
What we see most
Common Vauxhall faults
These are the issues that come through the workshop most often. If any of them sound familiar, book the car in and we'll confirm before quoting.
Timing belts and chains
Interval work that is genuinely worth doing on time on these engines.
Thermostat and cooling
A stuck thermostat shows up as poor heating and higher fuel use before it shows as overheating.
Electrical faults
Body control and sensor faults are traced with diagnostics rather than guessed.
Brakes and suspension
Common wear items we check as part of every service.

Common questions
How do I book my car in?
Use the booking form, call the workshop on 07757 605323 or send us a WhatsApp message. Tell us your registration and what the car is doing, and we'll come back to you to confirm a date.
Can you diagnose warning lights?
Yes. Fault codes are read across the vehicle's systems and checked against live sensor data so the cause is identified rather than guessed at.
Do I need to know what's wrong before booking?
No. Describe what the car is doing in your own words — a noise, a light, a smell, a feeling through the pedal. That is usually more useful to us than a self-diagnosis.
Can Stockport Recoveries bring my car to the workshop?
If the vehicle isn't driveable, Stockport Recoveries can help arrange recovery or transport to us. Mention it when you get in touch and we'll coordinate between the two.
Do I need an appointment?
Workshop visits are by appointment so we can allocate time to your vehicle properly. Please contact us before travelling.
Will you tell me the cost before doing the work?
Where a repair needs approval we will explain what we have found and what we recommend before proceeding. For complex faults, an accurate diagnosis is needed before a firm price can be given.
How long does a service take?
It depends on the vehicle and what the inspection finds. We'll give you a realistic idea for your car when we confirm the booking.
I bought my car from Stockport Motors — what does that mean here?
Stockport Mechanics is the workshop side of the same group, so servicing, repairs and diagnostics continue with people who already know the cars the group sells.
