Stockport Mechanics — Service, Repair, Diagnostics

Audi servicing & repairs

Audi servicing, repairs and diagnostics

Audi servicing, fault finding and mechanical repairs from an independent Stockport workshop, with the same care over specification and records as a franchised dealer.

Our approach

Looking after your Audi

Modern Audis are heavily electronically managed, so a lot of what looks like a mechanical fault is really a sensor, actuator or software issue. We diagnose first, then quote — you get told what is actually wrong and what it will cost before we touch anything.

What we see most

Common Audi faults

These are the issues that come through the workshop most often. If any of them sound familiar, book the car in and we'll confirm before quoting.

Wet belts and timing

Belt-in-oil engines need the interval respected; we advise on where your engine stands.

DPF and emissions

Short-journey diesels block up. We check whether the DPF can be regenerated before recommending replacement.

Suspension knocks

Drop links, bushes and top mounts are common on Audi saloons and estates on our local roads.

Electrical gremlins

Start-stop battery and charging faults are frequent and easily misread without proper testing.

FAQs

Common questions

How do I book my car in?

Use the booking form, call the workshop on 07757 605323 or send us a WhatsApp message. Tell us your registration and what the car is doing, and we'll come back to you to confirm a date.

Can you diagnose warning lights?

Yes. Fault codes are read across the vehicle's systems and checked against live sensor data so the cause is identified rather than guessed at.

Do I need to know what's wrong before booking?

No. Describe what the car is doing in your own words — a noise, a light, a smell, a feeling through the pedal. That is usually more useful to us than a self-diagnosis.

Can Stockport Recoveries bring my car to the workshop?

If the vehicle isn't driveable, Stockport Recoveries can help arrange recovery or transport to us. Mention it when you get in touch and we'll coordinate between the two.

Do I need an appointment?

Workshop visits are by appointment so we can allocate time to your vehicle properly. Please contact us before travelling.

Will you tell me the cost before doing the work?

Where a repair needs approval we will explain what we have found and what we recommend before proceeding. For complex faults, an accurate diagnosis is needed before a firm price can be given.

How long does a service take?

It depends on the vehicle and what the inspection finds. We'll give you a realistic idea for your car when we confirm the booking.

I bought my car from Stockport Motors — what does that mean here?

Stockport Mechanics is the workshop side of the same group, so servicing, repairs and diagnostics continue with people who already know the cars the group sells.
