Vehicle servicing
Car servicing in Stockport
Routine servicing is the cheapest maintenance you will ever do. Fresh oil, clean filters and a proper look over the car keeps small issues small — and gives you a written picture of what will need attention next.
What's involved
Servicing at the workshop
Oil and filter
Engine oil replaced with the correct specification for your vehicle, along with the oil filter.
Inspection
A look over brakes, tyres, suspension, fluids and visible wear items while the car is with us.
Findings explained
We tell you what we found, what needs doing now and what can safely wait.
Records kept
Work carried out is recorded so your maintenance history stays clear.
Service levels
Service levels are structured around how far the car travels and how it is used. The exact inclusions for your vehicle are confirmed when you book — we don't publish a checklist we haven't agreed for your car.
FAQs
Before you book
How do I book my car in?
Use the booking form, call the workshop on 07757 605323 or send us a WhatsApp message. Tell us your registration and what the car is doing, and we'll come back to you to confirm a date.
Can you diagnose warning lights?
Yes. Fault codes are read across the vehicle's systems and checked against live sensor data so the cause is identified rather than guessed at.
Do I need to know what's wrong before booking?
No. Describe what the car is doing in your own words — a noise, a light, a smell, a feeling through the pedal. That is usually more useful to us than a self-diagnosis.
Can Stockport Recoveries bring my car to the workshop?
If the vehicle isn't driveable, Stockport Recoveries can help arrange recovery or transport to us. Mention it when you get in touch and we'll coordinate between the two.
Do I need an appointment?
Workshop visits are by appointment so we can allocate time to your vehicle properly. Please contact us before travelling.
Will you tell me the cost before doing the work?
Where a repair needs approval we will explain what we have found and what we recommend before proceeding. For complex faults, an accurate diagnosis is needed before a firm price can be given.
How long does a service take?
It depends on the vehicle and what the inspection finds. We'll give you a realistic idea for your car when we confirm the booking.
I bought my car from Stockport Motors — what does that mean here?
Stockport Mechanics is the workshop side of the same group, so servicing, repairs and diagnostics continue with people who already know the cars the group sells.
