Why service history matters more than you think
Service history is not paperwork for its own sake. It's evidence of how the car has been treated, and it changes what the car is worth and what can be claimed against.
It protects resale value
Two identical cars with different histories sell for noticeably different money. A buyer paying for a car with gaps is pricing in the risk of work that may or may not have been done.
Independent history counts
Once a car is out of its manufacturer warranty period, servicing at an independent garage using correct-specification parts keeps the history valid. Block exemption rules mean using a franchised dealer isn't a requirement.
It makes diagnosis faster
Knowing when the belt, brake fluid and plugs were last done removes guesswork when something goes wrong. It also stops you paying for the same work twice.
How we record it
We log the work carried out, the parts used and the mileage so the record stays clear and portable, whether that's stamped in a book or held digitally.
